Terms & conditions

Last updated 19 October 2026

These terms cover buying and using Joinery licences ("the service"). By buying a licence or creating an account, you agree to them. If you buy for a company or for clients, you agree on their behalf too.

Joinery is a partner brand owned and operated by HFB Global, Friesestraatweg 16, 9718 NG Groningen, Netherlands (KVK 82762201).

What you’re buying

Joinery makes WordPress plugins. Some, such as our store plugins, also need WooCommerce. The plugins’ code is licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL), version 2 or later, so you can use, change and share the code under that licence.

A Joinery licence is what you pay for. While it’s active, it gives you:

  • downloads and one-click updates for the plugins your plan covers,
  • support from us, and
  • use of the licence key on the number of sites your plan allows.

Single-plugin licences cover one plugin. All Access and Agency cover every Joinery plugin, including plugins we release during your licence term.

Sites

Your plan sets how many live sites can use your key at once. Sites that WordPress reports as staging, development or local don’t count. You can free a site at any time by deactivating the key in WordPress or in your account, and use it somewhere else. Agency licences may be used on sites you build or run for clients.

Prices, currency and VAT

Prices are in euros, US dollars or British pounds and don’t include tax. Payments are handled by Link, a Stripe company, which sells your licence on our behalf as the merchant of record (your checkout, receipts and card statement say “Sold through Link”). Link adds VAT or sales tax for your country at checkout and sends your receipts and invoices. If you buy as a business and give a valid EU VAT number, no VAT is charged and the reverse charge applies. You may be offered your local currency at checkout; Link shows you the exact amount before you pay.

Renewal and cancellation

Licences run for one year and renew automatically, charged to the payment method on file. We send a reminder before each renewal. We don’t raise the renewal price of an active licence: you keep the price you signed up at for as long as you keep renewing.

You can turn off renewal at any time under Manage billing in your account. Your licence stays active until the end of the year you’ve paid for. You can upgrade (for example to All Access or more sites) at any time; what you’ve already paid for the current year is credited against the new price.

When a licence ends

The plugins keep working on every site after your licence ends: we never switch off features. You stop getting updates, new downloads and support until you renew.

Refunds

If you’re not happy, ask for a refund within 30 days of a purchase or renewal and we’ll refund it in full, without questions. Once refunded, the licence ends.

If you’re a consumer in the EU, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase of digital content. That right ends once a download or update has started, which you agree to when you buy. Our 30-day refund applies anyway and doesn’t reduce any rights you have by law.

Support

Support covers installing, setting up and using our plugins, and fixing bugs in them. We answer by email on Dutch business days. All Access and Agency customers get priority. Support doesn’t cover custom development, or problems caused by other plugins, themes or hosting, though we’ll tell you what we find.

Updates and compatibility

We keep our plugins compatible with the latest two major versions of WordPress, and of WooCommerce for plugins that use it. We may change or remove features in updates. If we stop developing a plugin, we’ll give at least 90 days’ notice, and the version you have keeps working.

Fair use

  • Don’t share, publish or resell your licence key.
  • Don’t try to get around site limits or attack our licence and update service.
  • The GPL lets you share the plugins’ code, but not our name, logo or support: don’t present modified or redistributed copies as official Joinery plugins.

We may suspend a licence that breaks these rules. If we do, we’ll tell you why, and refund the unused part of the year if we were wrong.

Liability

We test our plugins carefully, but no software is free of bugs. Keep backups of your store, and test updates on a staging site before applying them to a live one. We’re not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost sales, lost profits or lost data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

Your data

How we handle personal data is explained in our privacy policy.

Changes to these terms

We’ll update this page when these terms change and change the date at the top. Changes that affect your licence apply from your next renewal, and we’ll email you about them beforehand.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Dutch law, and disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands. If you’re a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
