Give a free gift
Add a product to the cart for free when an order qualifies, such as a tote bag on orders over €50.

Add a rule and its conditions
Go to Joinery → Rules, click Add rule and name it, such as “Free tote bag over $50”. Under When all of these are true, choose when the gift applies, for example Cart subtotal is at least 50.

Choose the gift
Under Then do this, choose Free gift. In Gift, start typing the product’s name and pick it, then set the Quantity. Click Save rule. The gift must be a simple product that’s published and in stock.

Check the cart
Once the cart qualifies, the gift is added at $0.00 with “Free gift: Included with your order” under it. Its quantity can’t be changed.
What customers can expect
- If the cart stops qualifying (they remove items), the gift is taken out again.
- The gift doesn’t count toward the rule itself: a $15 gift can’t lift a $40 cart over $50.
- Customers who don’t want the gift can remove it. It isn’t added back until they start a new cart.
- The order shows the gift as a line at $0.00 marked Free gift, so you know to pack it.
Tip: Gift not appearing? Check the rule is active and its conditions are met, and that the gift product is published, in stock and not a variable product.
