How rules work
Conditions decide when a rule applies, actions decide what it does. Priority and combining explained.
All Joinery plugins share one rules screen: Joinery → Rules. A rule has a name, conditions (“when”) and actions (“then”).
Conditions: when the rule applies
Every condition must be true for the rule to apply. Add as many as you need with + Add condition. A rule without conditions applies to everything.
Actions: what the rule does
Actions change the price of each matching product, or take an amount off the whole cart. Add one or more with + Add action.
When several rules match
- Rules run in order of Priority: lower numbers first. Rules with the same priority run in the order you created them.
- Matching rules combine. 10% off followed by 5% off gives 14.5% off, because the second discount applies to the already lower price.
- Turn on Don’t combine with other rules to make a rule stand alone. If it’s the first rule that matches, only it applies. If another rule matched first, this one is skipped.
- Turn off Rule is active to pause a rule without deleting it.
Tip: Cart conditions, such as Cart subtotal, look at prices before any discount, so one rule’s discount never stops another rule from applying.
