Tax-exempt accounts and pay by invoice

Tax-exempt customers

• For a whole tier: edit it in WooCommerce → Trade accounts → Tiers and tick Don’t charge tax on these customers’ orders.
• For one customer: open them under Users and set Tax, in their Trade account section, to Never charge tax (or Always charge tax to override their tier).
• Tax then disappears from their cart, checkout and orders. Keep the paperwork your tax office asks for, such as a resale certificate.

Pay by invoice

   Turn it on

   Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Payments, open Pay by invoice and tick Enable. Add your bank details under Payment details: customers see them on the thank-you page and in their order email.

   Choose who may use it

   In WooCommerce → Trade accounts → Tiers, edit a tier and tick Let these customers pay by invoice, within, then set the number of days. Only customers in those tiers see the option at checkout.

   Get paid

   Invoice orders go On hold, with the due date on the order (“Invoice due”, in red once it’s overdue) and in the customer’s emails. When the money arrives, change the order to Processing.
